Yes. Credly is a commercial platform with its own pricing based on badge volume. Abstract Technology handles the technical integration with Open edX. You manage your badge templates and issuance rules through the Credly dashboard.
Absolutely. You create and brand your badge templates in Credly. Each badge can carry your institution's logo, programme-specific colours, and the skills or competencies it represents.
When a learner meets the completion criteria in Open edX, a webhook triggers the Credly API to issue the corresponding badge. The learner receives an email notification with a link to accept and share their credential.
Credly supports Open Badges 3.0, which provides a bridge to the EU Digital Credentials framework. This means your badges can be recognised alongside European digital credentials and Europass portfolios.
